A New Year and a New Feature

While not all of our students look forward to the new school year with great excitement, most will agree that they are excited about the new sports seasons. Along with the social media that Haleyville Sports is already a part of, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, this year brings something new and exciting as well.  For those of you that have Snapchat, I will attempt to include some Snapchat Stories along with score updates, picture and videos. And if all goes well, I hope to have another addition later on.

Feel free to add me on Snapchat as haleyvillesport and Roar Lions!

Ready For Baseball and Softball Season

The 2016 Haleyville Lions Baseball and Lady Lions Softball seasons are already underway and I know all of the players, coaches and parents are ready to go and are excited for everyone to come out and support these teams. I have posted the new schedules on the website and are available to view using your computer, tablets and phones. This year, I changed the look to provide you with schedules that can be saved to your phones or printed for handing out or hanging on a refrigerator. Rosters will be added soon.

One other change to the website this year is a link at the top of the page labeled “Live Audio”. It is somewhat of an experiment but with a little luck and a decent cell phone signal, I hope to be able to broadcast some of the softball and baseball games on a digital radio station. The Lions and Lady Lions want you to come out and cheer them on whenever possible, but we all know how hard it is to be at all of the games. So if I can broadcast a game in the future, I will post links on Facebook and Twitter, then all the listener will have to do is follow the link and listen to the game. Our own WWWH broadcasts some of the games during the season and I have no intention of competing with the professionals on this level. But I am hoping to provide some coverage when no other options are provided. I have broadcast a few softball games with video in the past but due to the massive amount of data that uses, I just can not afford to do many of those.

Let me know if you are interested in live audio or any other suggestions you may have.

Thank you and Roar Lions!
